A taxi driver has struck an 8-year-old child at the intersection of Lore Road and Meadow Street.
Anchorage Police say initial indications are that the taxi cab was traveling southbound on Meadow Street when an 8-year-old child stepped out in the roadway in front of the taxi.
APD says the cab had the right-of-way.
The child was transported to the hospital with a leg injury and is currently being evaluated by medical staff.
A parent is said to be with the victim.
APD says the taxi cab driver stayed on scene and was cooperative.
The northbound lane of Meadow St was closed at Lore Rd for a short time, it has since reopened.
