The Alaska SeaLife Center's walrus calf moves to SeaWorld Orlando

The walrus calf, who was rescued and brought to the Alaska SeaLife Center in Seward, has been moved to a forever home at SeaWorld Orlando.

Aku, the walrus calf, was

off the coast of Nome, and was then transported in June to Seward. Due to the herd nature of walruses and his young age, it was determined he could not be released back into the wild.

The walrus calf was

, after an Inupiaq word meaning stern of boat. Florida's theme park says Aku will now grow up with a walrus his own age, named Ginger.
