Three additional suspects arrested in connection with the Cynthia Hoffman case
An adult male and two juveniles have been arrested and charged in connection with the Cynthia Hoffman murder.
The adult male has been identified as 19-year-old Caleb Leyland. Police say, Leyland, along with a juvenile male and juvenile female were involved in the planning of the homicide along with Denali Brehmer and Kayden McIntosh.
Court documents state that Brehmer named these three additional suspects throughout their interview. Officers found the three at the juvenile female's mothers house on Saturday and took them in for questioning.
"I know I did something wrong and I know I could have probably done something different if I was able to and I don’t want my daughter knowing that her mom grew up a killer because I don’t see myself as one," says Brehmer at the arraignment Saturday.
The documents further reveal that Leyland admitted to his role in the planning by lending Brehmer and McIntosh his Chevy Trailblazer to kidnap and murder Hoffman -- and he also admitted the five suspects all agreed to kill her.
Both the male and female juvenile suspects told investigators they were present during the planning of the killing.
During the investigation, detectives discovered that Leyland allegedly sexually assaulted the juvenile female suspect. He faces charges of Murder 1, and Conspiracy to Commit Murder 1, along with additional charges of Sexual Assault 1 and Sexual Abuse of a Minor 2.
The two juvenile suspects were transported to McLaughlin Youth Center. Charges were forwarded to the Department of Juvenile Justice.
Cynthia Hoffman's family sat in the audience today and her father, Timothy Hoffman Senior said "All I know is that my daughter didn’t deserve all this. She should have had the friends that she wanted. She shouldn’t have had people that wanted to plot against her. And the ages of these people? I think it is sick. And now they don’t have to live the nightmare that I have to live."
