A woman from Anchorage died while riding with family on a snowmachine trail in Willow on Saturday, according to Alaska State Troopers.

Troopers and EMS responded to a call for a medical emergency in the Deshka Landing area just after 5:00 p.m. They attempted lifesaving efforts on 56-year-old Melanie McCleave without success.

McCleave died of natural causes, according to Troopers. After investigation into her death, the State Medical Examiner released her body to family.

Janssen’s Funeral Home will provide final services on behalf of the family.
