A woman driving her car in South Anchorage suddenly found her vehicle stuck in a large sinkhole Thursday night.

It happened in the parking lot of Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church at Old Seward Highway and Oceanview Drive just before 7:30 p.m. Thursday night.

"All of a sudden my car went 'fump'," said Annie Nillson, the driver of the SUV.

It took several people working together to get the car out of the sink hole. One of them say the hole extends several feet under the pavement.

"Maybe it had something to do with the earthquake," Gary Matthews with Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church told KTUU. "Maybe something liquefied down there and it finally collapsed."
