Police have identified the man who was
According to police, he wasn't alone.
In a community alert issued Thursday morning, APD said that the victim was Alfred Komok, 65, of Anchorage. They continued to say that he was walking with another person when he was hit by the car.
That other person has not yet been identified, but police want to speak with them, as they believe they could be a key witness to the collision that killed Komok.
Additionally, police are still looking for a vehicle that was seen in the area. Right now, they are not suggesting that this vehicle may have been involved in the crash, but rather that the vehicle's occupants may be additional witnesses.
This vehicle, described by witnesses as a gold Chrysler Town and Country van, was spotted on some security camera footage. Police say they are not positive of the make and model of the car, but provided some dark photos of the vehicle taken from the security camera.
"Investigators would like to speak to the driver, and any passengers in that vehicle, as they may have seen the crash," police wrote in a news release.
