Anchorage’s Froehle signs with USL soccer league
On Monday, Anchorage's Lorenzo Froehle signed with the Albuquerque Sol of the USL Championship soccer league.
Since Froehle is playing in USL League Two, he’ll keep his NCAA eligibility. The USL is the United States' primary minor league soccer organization, and League Two is the nation's highest level of amateur soccer.
Froehle’s father, Matt, played in USL League One, the third division of professional soccer behind the USL Championship, and Major League Soccer.
Currently Froehle plays NCAA Div. I soccer for Manhattan College, and is coming off a redshirt season last fall after tearing his ACL in the spring of 2018. Before Manhattan College, Froehle was a four-year starter at Bartlett High School and an all-state selection his junior year.
Earlier this month, former Dimond standout soccer player Ariela Lewis signed play soccer for Skövde KIK in Sweden.
