The homeless are pitching tents across the Anchorage area after the Sullivan Arena closed as a shelter nearly a month ago. That's where the Sanctioned Camps Community Task Force says they're getting involved in identifying possible sites for temporary camps - to give the city time to establish a permanent, low-barrier homeless shelter.

Nearly 400 Operation Desert Storm veterans walked side by side in the National Memorial Day Parade in the United States capital on Monday.
Almost every veteran carried a patch with the name of one of the 375 military members who lost their lives during Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm. An Alaska man, David Douthit, was one of them.
