The Paul and Ruth Lemp Memorial Community Garden is open and ready for business. And business is good! The 50 "pre-fab" raised gardens are sold out for the summer! The project that started three years ago is a hit with the locals and kids too. It's amazing what a small group can do to impact and improve their community by simply taking an idea and putting in the work. The garden is located at 1612 Oceanview Drive behind its sponsor church, Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church. The project was funded by a bequest from Paul and Ruth Lemp and several local donors including the Rasmuson Foundation and a nearby senior housing facility. Gary Matthews says all the new beds are spoken for … and that the small fee they collect goes to having a port-a-potty on site. For more on this new community garden, reach out to the church and ask for Gary Matthews or Dan Gullickson. Have an Allgood News idea? Email Dave at AllgoodNews@ktuu.com
