ADF&G received a notice from the Wild Fish Conservancy Northwest that it intends to petition for chinook salmon to be listed under the Endangered Species Act. This comes after the environmental group was successful in a lawsuit against NOAA that closed trolling fisheries in Southeast Alaska.
