"Howling with Huskies and other ways to feel good" is a book by world renowned scientist Dr. Linda Chamberlain in association with the Alaska Children’s Trust. The book is a product of Dr. Chamberlain’s knowledge on stress and it’s effect on the brain, and her 25 years as a musher. Trevor Storrs of The Alaska Children’s Trust says it was a “no brainer” to partner with Dr. Chamberlain when she mentioned she could use a little help to get her idea of a children’s guide to feeling better into print. "Howling with Huskies" was born during a trip to rural Alaska, where Dr. Chamberlain noticed the need for simple tools and family resources for kids as they develop. She notes that the book combines traditional Indigenous and Western knowledge, as many of the techniques have “deep roots in traditional practices and are supported by the latest science as effective strategies to build stress resilience skills and self-regulation.” For more information go to Howlingwithhuskies.com.
