Anchorage PD investigating death in Campbell Park residence

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) - Anchorage police are investigating a death on the 5900 block of Fiji Street.

Officers were dispatched to that location in reference to a reported assault at approximately 12:51 a.m. Thursday, according to a press release from the APD. When they arrived, they found a dead woman with at least one gunshot wound to the upper body.

At least one person was transported to the police department for questioning, but no charges have been filed at this time. The APD believes they have contacted everyone involved.

This appears to be an isolated incident and there is no public safety concern, according to the press release. The circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation.
