FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTUU) - Jerek Boyle, 26, has been indicted on a single charge of murder in the first degree by a Fairbanks grand jury.

Charging documents say Boyle shot and killed 48-year-old James Gelvin on the front porch of a cabin they were living in on Jan. 2. His body was recovered by investigators where it was -50 below zero, and was transported to Anchorage for an autopsy.

Boyle entered a not-guilty plea during Wednesday’s arraignment. He remains in custody at the Fairbanks Correctional Center.
