Vance to visit Alaska to rally before midterm elections
Sullivan, Begich, and all Republican candidates for governor to be in attendance
ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) - Vice President JD Vance is coming to Fairbanks Monday, Oct. 5, for a midterm rally, the Republican National Committee announced.
His visit comes as the state faces two toss-up races: the U.S. Senate race and Alaska’s Governor race.
Vance and Pres. Donald Trump are currently traveling across the country, largely in red states seen as up for grabs by Democrats.
In Maryland, the vice president told NBC News Thursday that there’s “always a bit of an uphill climb [historically], and I think you definitely sense that.”
“I also think you can sense a sense of cautious optimism, in the sense that, you know, people feel like the numbers are sort of moving, maybe in our direction.”
The campaigns for Sen. Dan Sullivan, R-Alaska, Rep. Nick Begich, R-Alaska, and all the Republican gubernatorial candidates (Bernadette Wilson, Dave Bronson and Treg Taylor) confirmed to Alaska’s News Source they will be at the event.
Trump has not endorsed a candidate for Governor.
The President also said he will visit Alaska 30 days before Election Day to rally for Dan Sullivan.
