(CNN) - An experimental mRNA vaccine has been found to cut the risk of melanoma recurrence.

The vaccine is combined with the approved drug Keytruda.

Officials said it reduced the risk of cancer coming back after surgery compared with Keytruda alone.

It also reduced the risk of death.

The results are set to be presented during a European Society for Medical Oncology meeting in Madrid on Saturday.
