ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) - The Alaska Zoo is holding its annual Zoo Boo event Saturday, and tickets are still available, Rich Capitan, the Alaska Zoo education director, said

Capitan said the event has been held for years, and new decorations this year include a family of bigfoots, a coven of witches and a series of skeletons placed throughout the zoo.

“We’ve got a trail that’s spookier for the older kids or spooky fans,” Capitan said. “We’ve got a games area for the younger folks.”

High winds seen in Anchorage on Friday proved to be a challenge for setting up decorations early.

“With this weather and wind, it’s been a little bit of a setback for us, but no, I think the plan for today is to get everything up and prep for tomorrow,” Capitan added.

Zoo Boo runs from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday.
