Taking Halloween to the next level

One man says he is fulfilling his childhood dreams of creating a friendly horror-filled display right in his own yard.

Head down to Camp Crystal on the corner of east 16th and Turpin for a fun interactive Halloween display designed and created by Billy Stapleton Jr.

This year Stapleton has partnered with Alaska Youth Advocates.

The group helps homeless teens and Stapleton was once homeless himself and wanted to give back to an organization he knows well. Throughout October he has been collecting warm clothing items and backpacks but says on Halloween he is hosting a canned food drive for the organization.

"I have 11 businesses that sponsor me they have given me over 400 pounds of candy to hand out and each child is going to get a handful of candy and I thought it would be a great way to teach them to share and donate to a good cause by giving me a canned good," said Billy Stapleton Jr.

Stapleton says they have raised over one thousand dollars in goods so far.
