Two arrested in connection with Holiday Inn homicide

Anchorage police say they've arrested two suspects in connection with a recent homicide at the Spenard Holiday Inn.
According to a public release from the Anchorage Police Department, around 7:30 a.m. Sunday, officers with the Investigative Support Unit found one of the suspects inside a residence on East 15th Ave.
Police said 35-year-old Dwayne Nelson was taken into custody without incident.
At the residence, investigators were led to believe a second suspect may be at the Backpackers in downtown Anchorage.
The man, said by police to be 22-year-old Ryan Edwin, barricaded himself inside a room and refused to leave the building.
He was also eventually taken into custody around 1:45 Sunday without incident, according to APD.
Both Edwin and Nelson face charges of second-degree murder for the Nov. 12 homicide of 27-year-old David Welch.
