ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) - One minute. Just 60 seconds. Alaskan drummer Tim Saunders took to a stage at the University of Alaska Anchorage to try and break a speed drumming record.
His window was 60 seconds.
On Jan. 26, 2026, Saunders laid down a double stroke drum roll that averaged 23.58 beats a second.
At the end of a minute, his count was 1,415. The current record is 1,200. Now it all needs to be approved by the Guinness World Record folks.
A 60-second window to break the record, now a 12-week window to wait to hear if it’s official.
