Instructor and student injured in Willow plane crash

Alaska State Troopers say two people were injured in a plane crash west of the Willow Airport Saturday night.
According to a daily dispatch, the 20-year-old pilot, identified as Robin C Spaulding, of Talkeenta, was learning night flight operations from the passenger, John P Cabaud, 29, of Talkeenta. “While performing a training maneuver the plane crashed,” troopers wrote.
Both Cabaud and Spaulding were injured and taken to a hospital with injuries troopers said are “not considered life threatening.”
AST wrote the National Transportation Safety Board has been notified about the crash.
