UPDATE: Marijuana-intoxicated motorist injures cyclist

Last night's 2008 silver Chevy Malibu driver was identified as 36-year-old Amber R. Laws, by Anchorage Police Department spokesperson, Renee Oistad.
At 6:46 p.m., on Tuesday, Laws was attempting exit an apartment complex driveway, in the area of E. 4th Avenue and Bragaw Street, when she turned right, on Bragaw Street, and struck an adult male cyclist, according to police.
Laws' vehicle was traveling southbound, while the cyclist, who was crossing the driveway, was traveling northbound.
When APD arrived at the scene, Laws displayed signs of impairment.
Laws was charged and arrested with Operating Under the Influence with marijuana.
According to Oistad, police suspect Laws had marijuana in her system, after conducting Standardized Field Sobriety Tests and drawing her blood.
A cyclist was injured tonight about 6:45 on Bragaw near the Bragaw Community Gardens after being struck by a car turning south onto Bragaw.
Anchorage police say the driver of the silver Chevy Malibu was arrested for Driving Under the Influence (DUI) and was taken to the Anchorage Jail.
The cyclist was taken to the hospital with serious, non-life threatening injuries, according to police.
All southbound lanes of Bragaw now open.
