UPDATE: Two Palmer men arrested for murder charges in connection to deceased Anchorage man

Two men from Palmer have been identified and arrested on first degree murder charges, according to a spokesperson with the Alaska State Troopers.
The suspects identified by authorities Tuesday were Robert Barker, 38 of Palmer, and Joed Weyand, 35 also of Palmer.
In addition to the two men being identified, Megan Peters, a spokesperson with AST, said that the cause of death was due to a shooting.
Barker and Weyland were identified by authorities and arrested Tuesday in a motel in downtown Palmer by the Anchorage Bureau of Investigation and Palmer CSU. It was a "coordinated investigative effort of ABI, SCIU, and crime scene techs that identified the suspects" according to Peters. Exactly how they were linked to the scene is not yet known.
Both men were arrested on first degree murder charges before being transported to Mat-Su Pretrial in Palmer.
In an email, Peters said that the two burned out cars found near Speaker's body were "connected to the incident."
The body that Alaska State Troopers discovered on Sunday has been identified, and now authorities have confirmed other details regarding the man, including saying that it is "believed to be the result of a homicide."
AST said in a news release Tuesday afternoon that the deceased has been positively identified as Jeremie Speaker, 26, of Anchorage. It is not yet known how Speaker was killed.
They say he was found killed "in close proximity to two burned vehicles."
It is not yet known how these vehicles are connected to Speaker, however troopers said both vehicles have been impounded for "investigative purposes."
The original call came in to troopers on the afternoon of May 14, stating a body was found near Mile 4.8 of Knik River Road.
