5/17 11:00 A.M. UPDATE:

One person has been arrested for the shooting on Denali Street on charges of first and second degree murder, according to Anchorage police.

They say that Yolanda Castro, 63, shot Liteh Fogg, 40, with a shotgun when Fogg attempted to enter an upstairs window. Police say she was declared dead at the scene.

The report states that Castro had been Fogg's landlord at a single family home with several rooms rented out to different tenants. Castro herself lived at the home while making repaits. Fogg had been staying in one of the rooms that was "being rented by a female."

When Fogg and the tenant were not at home, police say Castro changed the locks. Upon their return, they were unable to enter the home, and police say the two women, and a third female friend, "went around to the back of the house where Fogg found a ladder, and used it to crawl on top of a shed. From the top of the shed, Fogg attempted to open the window of the room she had been staying in."

That's when, authorities say, a verbal argument occurred between Fogg and Castro. Police say the woman was shot by Castro with a shotgun while she was on the shed.

There were two witnesses outside of the building, and four people inside the building at the time of the shooting, police said. Three of those four, including Castro, were inside the same room when Castro fired the shotgun. The forth person, a tenant, was reportedly inside her own room.

5/17 9:A.M. UPDATE:

In a community message released by police just before midnight last night, APD said that the shooting on the 200 block of Denali Street turned fatal.

They have not identified the victim yet, however they say a woman was shot and killed in a homicide after they were alerted to a "verbal disturbance."

APD said several people were transported to the station for questioning, and that authorities are not looking for any further suspects.

As for the shooting that occurred on Peterkin Avenue, around the same time as the Denali Street shooting, police have confirmed that an adult male was shot.

KTUU crews on the scene witnessed a woman placed in handcuffs and into a police vehicle.

Just as with the Denali Street incident, authorities say they are not looking for any suspects in the Peterkin Ave. case.

Police say these incidents, though occurring during the same time frame, were unrelated to one another.

This is a developing story, stay with for more information.

Anchorage Police are responding to two different shootings Tuesday night, according to an APD dispatcher.

One shooting happened at 8:20 p.m. near the Mountain View Boys and Girls Club.

One person suffered a gunshot wound. The dispatcher could not provide an update on the person's condition.

The dispatcher was gathering information and said more details would come out as she learned more from officers on scene.

The dispatcher also reported to KTUU that there was another shooting on Denali Street.

No word yet on the extent of the injuries in that case.

The APD dispatcher said the two shootings are not related.
